Wine and Dine to Sustain Our Food-Insecure Neighbors

The Covid19 Crisis has exposed the inadequacies of our social safety net. Our neighbors need us. Together we can help.
This week, The Queensboro is partnering with Elevation Wine Partners and Queens Together to elevate your dine-at-home experience and raise money to feed our neighbors.
EWP is a local wine importer representing more than 50 family-owned wineries in Spain, France, Italy, Chile and Argentina. EWP believes in the social power of wine to bring people and ideas together - strengthening our community and teaching us to take care of each other.
For every featured bottle of wine purchased, EWP will be making a donation to support the work of The Queensboro and Queens Together. Queens Together believes a food secure future starts with what we do today. Their “Plate it Forward" initiative puts this idea into action with grassroots support for neighborhood food businesses who in turn provide nutritious meals to people in need.
“Our community is experiencing crisis levels of hunger and food insecurity, and in response, we are committed to doing what we do best: provide meals to those who most urgently need them, with love and friendship. This is our craft and passion." Jonathan Forgash, chef and activist. Queens Together
There will be five featured EWP wines this week. You can purchase all five together for $70, or purchase bottles individually as suits your needs. See the full list with individual prices below. Pick up or delivery is available and while you're at it, order one of The Queensboro's popular family meals.
VIRTUAL WINE TASTING
On Friday, we will host a virtual wine tasting to discuss our featured wines. Gil Avital of EWP will join Michael Fuquay of The Queensboro. Gil and Michael were longtime colleagues at Savoy, where Gil served as Wine Director. Since then he has served as General Manager and Wine Director at Tertullia before launching EWP. Their friendship and shared love of food and wine will be the foundation for warm, convivial conversation- just the sort of thing we could all use a little more of right now.
We will be Zooming the wine tasting at 7pm on Friday, May 8. We do not recommend trying all five wines with us that night, but if you save one of your bottles to pop with us, that would be grand. You can click here or below to join us.
